1^st Annual Carol Stream Animal Hospital Charity Dog Show

The 1st Annual Carol Stream Animal Hospital Charity Dog Show will be on Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 10am-4pm at the Town Center in Carol Stream. All proceeds from the Charity Dog Show will go to the AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund.

The AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund helps veterinarians by offering low or no-cost veterinary services to pet owners struggling with personal hardships. The fund also helps support animals who are injured or rescued from neglect or abuse. This program, created by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) provides charitable care to disabled veterans requiring a service dog, low-income senior citizens, victims of domestic violence, and good Samaritans who rescue pets and domesticated animals.

The number of pet owners unable to afford veterinary care for their animal companions grows every day. Many pet owners make the difficult choice to forgo veterinary care for their four-legged friends because they cannot afford the cost of care. Sensitive to the needs of pets and their owners, concerned and compassionate veterinary professionals are constantly searching for new ways to provide charitable veterinary services. The AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund helps pet owners get the veterinary services they need to keep their furry friends healthy and happy. Helping members of the community care for their pets improves the overall quality of life in the community.

Carol Stream Animal Hospital invites all members of the community to support the Charity Dog Show by participating in an event, making a charitable donation, or simply attending. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories, including the waggiest tail, ugliest cute dog, best trick, best costume, and more. A number of sponsors and vendors have already committed to attending the event, but spaces are still available for any sponsors or vendors interested in participating.
